speaking of initiative, you have a choice to make. you have a path before you that splits off into two branches. on the left branch you can see the paving stones begin to break up and fall apart as it leads into a dark wooded area. the right branch is unpaved but well-traveled, leading on around a small hill up ahead, the far side apparently cast in shadow as the sun is currently behind you.
